Restorative – White Fillings, Crowns, Bridges & Veneers.

  • White fillings :

If your silver fillings make you feel self conscious when you smile, or it's simply time to replace them, consider white fillings. White fillings are just as durable as they are attractive! Made of the same composite resin used in bonding, white fillings match the natural color of your teeth and are an excellent option for small to mid-sized cavities. White fillings are strong, stain-resistant and require less removal of your tooth structure than amalgam fillings.

  • Crowns & Bridges :

A dental crown may not make you feel like royalty, but it is one of the premiere treatments for teeth with extensive decay or damage. Dental crowns can also used to hold a dental bridge in place, cover cracked or severely discolored teeth, or cover a tooth after a root canal procedure. Made of either porcelain-fused-to-metal, ceramic or gold, dental crowns are placed during a multi-step process and sometimes require more than one dental visit. The first step is a dental impression. A temporary crown is then placed to protect the tooth while the impression is sent to an offsite laboratory to create the final restoration. With good oral hygiene and minimal wear and tear, your beautiful new dental crowns can last years.

  • Veneers :

Porcelain veneers are thin shells of tooth-colored porcelain that Dr. Shah, D.M.D. can use to cover stains or mask flaws such as cracked, broken, or misshapen teeth. Porcelain veneers are sometimes referred to as "instant orthodontics" because they can also be applied to straighten the appearance of a crooked smile.

What is the difference between a general cleaning and scaling and root planning?

Scaling and Root Planning is a highly skilled procedure that removes calculus, or tartar, that is loaded with bacteria, around and below the gum line where the toothbrush and floss cannot reach. A general cleaning removes only the soft sticky plaque and calculus that is above the gum line. Scaling and Root Planning is a method of treating gum disease when pockets form around the teeth. Plaque and tarter that sits on the teeth provides an environment, which allows bacteria to thrive and multiply. The bacteria cause the gums to become inflamed and bleed. The condition becomes more noticeable when you brush your teeth or sometimes when you eat. These are signs of the early stage of gingivitis. Gingivitis is easily treated by having the hygienist scale and polish the teeth. If gingivitis is left untreated, the condition will progress and the roots will need a planning. The difference between scaling and root planning is simple. Scaling is the removal of the dental tartar from the tooth surface Root planning is the process of smoothing the root surfaces and removing the infected tooth structure.

As a non-surgical procedure, scaling and planning is performed without any anesthesia, in the dentist’s office. While the procedure is usually painless, advanced stages of gingivitis may make it necessary to numb the area for complete comfort. Deep scaling and root planning is usually broken down into one section of the mouth per appointment. This allows for adequate healing time, and reduces the time for each appointment.

Once you have had periodontal scaling and root planning, it is recommended to repeat the process either once per year or once every two years, depending on the severity, to prevent further destruction of the supporting tissues along with regular follow-ups and professional cleanings every 3-4 months.

REMEMBER: Periodontal Disease is NOT curable but can be improved and maintained, thus reducing the systemic effects.

Dentures – Partial & Full. Varieties of options including metal-free flexible options.

Dentures have been a reliable method for dental reconstruction for hundreds of years now, and today, many patients still enjoy their convenience and affordability. At Celebrity Smiles, Dr. Anand Shah is happy to offer both complete and partial dentures that are crafted from high-quality materials and precisely designed with your aesthetic needs in mind. Implant-supported dentures are also available at all our offices for patients who are looking for more stability and permanence in their denture.

Complete Dentures:

Complete dentures are used to replace the entire bottom or top arch of teeth. Our doctors can also measure your entire mouth for a full set of dentures if needed. These customized appliances can be held in place with natural suction and perhaps a little denture cream for additional sturdiness so that you can feel confident eating all your favorite foods.

Partial Dentures:

Partial dentures, also known simply as partials, are created to replace a certain number of teeth within your smile while also maintaining your natural, healthy teeth. We’ll be sure to design your new partial to match your existing teeth as seamlessly as possible! The appliance maintains its position by using clips or brackets to attach to other teeth in the mouth.
